Monday 03 November 2025

Weee Nederland and Jacomij signed a multi-year follow-up agreement for the further expansion and operation of the regional sorting center for e-waste (WEEE – Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).

With this step, both organizations are continuing their successful collaboration and strengthening the national waste management structure for e-waste in a sustainable manner.

Erik van den Heuvel: “With this multi-year collaboration, we are working together with Weee Nederland to continue building a circular future. We are increasing regional processing capacity and jointly setting a positive standard for sustainable e-waste management in the Netherlands.”

Thanks to this contract, collection, reuse, and high-quality recycling can be further scaled up in the coming years. Approximately 6,000,000 kg of discarded electrical appliances will be sorted annually, sourced from recycling centers in the provinces of Utrecht, Gelderland, and South Holland.
This includes the municipality of Wijk bij Duurstede and several recycling centers served by energy and waste company HVC.
