EU Introduces Digital Waste Shipment System (DIWASS)
On May 21, 2026 the European Union will introduce a new mandatory Digital Waste Shipment System (DIWASS) for cross-border waste shipments (both notifications and Annex VII).
What does this mean?
• All organizations involved in cross-border transport must register with DIWASS
• All notifications and Annex VII documents will then be processed entirely digitally
When?
• April 2026: start of registration and preparation phase
• May 21, 2026: participation becomes mandatory
